Connected Apps
A connected app is an AI tool such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor that has been linked to Agentic in your organisation. Once it is connected, you can ask it about your agents in plain language and it answers from your real data. It can also build and change agents for you, if you give it that access. See Connected apps in the key terms.
What You Can Ask
A connected app reads the same agents, sessions and metrics you see in the Admin app. Some examples:
- "Show me my agents in Production"
- "Why did my agent's score drop? Look at the lowest-scoring sessions"
- "Show me the transcript of my agent's worst session this week"
- "Help me design a voice agent that books appointments and hands off to a human when unsure"
What Connected Apps Can Do lists everything an app can read and change, what it can never do, and more prompts to try.
Before You Start
- Role: connecting an app needs the Admin or Organisation Admin role in the organisation you connect. Seeing and revoking everyone's connections is for Organisation Admins only. See Roles and Permissions.
- An AI app that supports remote connectors. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf all do, and any other app that can add a remote server with a browser sign-in will work too.
How a Connection Works
- You add Agentic to your AI app, using the steps in the connect guide.
- The AI app opens NeonNow in your browser, where you sign in.
- You choose the organisation to connect and whether the app can build agents or only read, then select Allow Access.
- You go back to the AI app and start asking questions.
One connection belongs to one person, one AI app and one organisation. The app acts as you, so everything it does is limited by your own access.
A Connection Covers Every Environment
A connection is made to an organisation, not to a single environment. The app can see every environment in that organisation, including Sandbox, UAT and Production, and any environment created after you connect. If you only want an app to work on test agents, keep that in mind before giving it build access.
Session transcripts can contain your customers' personal information. The AI app you connect, and the AI provider behind it, will be able to read them. Check that this fits your organisation's data policy before connecting.
Where to Start
The connect guide in the Admin app has the setup steps for each AI app. It opens from:
- the Use Agentic from Your AI Agent card at the bottom of the Agentic sidebar, by selecting Connect an Agent
- How to Connect on Settings > Connected Apps (Organisation Admins only)
- How to Connect in the Connected Apps panel under Account Settings > Security
The sidebar card appears for Admins and Organisation Admins once an agent has been published. It stays until you connect an app in that organisation or dismiss the card.
